Contestant Applicant Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to all the applicants at the Masters in the Making Grant presented by Burgoyne Original Masters in collaboration with Art Culture Festival India (“Grant”) (in each case as defined below). Your registration for the grant indicates your agreement to these terms. 

  1. Definitions 

In these Terms, the following capitalised words and expressions have the meanings set out against them below:

a. “Applicant /You/Your” – an individual who participates and applies for the grant in any capacity, including individual artist, artisan, craftsperson or collective.

b. “Grant” – Masters in the Making Grant presented by Burgoyne Original Masters in collaboration with Art Culture Festival India.

c. “We/us/our/CNI/Organiser” – Burgoyne Original Masters & ACF India.

d. “Winner” – Applicant who is selected as the recipient of the grant, including the exhibition showcase opportunity, as detailed in these Terms. 

  1. Grant is organised by Burgoyne Original Masters in collaboration with Art Culture Festival India with the Prize (as defined below) sponsored by Burgoyne Original Masters.

  2. By participating in the said grant, the Applicants agree to be bound by these terms and agree that the same shall be binding upon you unconditionally.

  3. Entries for the Grant will be accepted from 5th April 2026 to 5th June 2026 and may be extended at the sole discretion of the organiser. The Grant is open for participation by Applicants who fulfil the criteria captured below and send filled up participation forms along with necessary information as required on this form.

  4. Eligibility Requirements:

    a. To be eligible to participate in this grant, Applicants must be residents and citizens of India and at least 18 years of age at the time of entry i.e. as on 5th April 2026.

    b.The Applicants are required to submit a valid government-issued identification document to verify their identity and age. Acceptable forms of IDs include, but are not limited to, an Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, or driver’s license. Incomplete applications or failure to provide valid identification will result in disqualification from the grant.


    c. Applicants should be available to travel to Delhi for a jury presentation on short notice. Applicants will be responsible for covering their own travel expenses during this period.

    d. By submitting an application, the Applicant acknowledges and agrees to the grant rules, confirming their availability for the exhibition preview and their participation in any promotional activities associated with the grant. This includes but is not limited to interviews, public appearances and social media engagements as required by the organiser.

    e. The Applicant must fill the application form on the BOM’s website https://burgoyneoriginalmasters.com/

    f. All submissions must be original and self-created, reflecting the Applicants own vision and process. Works may be previously exhibited or newly created, as long as they remain original to the Applicant.

    g. Each Applicant may submit one entry per category.

    h. Applicants must show how they blend traditional craft techniques with fresh contemporary perspectives in ways that feel authentic and alive.

    i. Applicants should be able to push boundaries, display conceptual clarity and show a willingness to experiment. 

    j. Applicants are encouraged to use heirloom fabrics, garments and traditionally inherited materials wherever relevant.

    6. Participation Requirements 
    Applicants must adhere to the following participation requirements to be eligible for the Grant. Failure to comply with any of these requirements may result in disqualification from the Grant. 

    a. Personal Information: Applicants are required to provide accurate personal details, including their full name, contact information and any other relevant identifiers, along with a brief introduction. If the Applicant is representing a collective or other organisation, they must confirm their authority to agree to these terms on behalf of the entity and provide complete details of the organisation as well.

    b. Background Information: Applicants must provide a comprehensive record of their educational background, including details of the institutions attended, qualifications obtained, relevant dates and any pertinent coursework. Additionally, Applicants should submit a detailed account of their work history, including job titles, responsibilities and the duration of each role. This application must be accurate and complete, as it will be used to assess eligibility, suitability and experience during the application process.

    c.
    Artist/Collective Statement: Applicants must submit a written statement outlining their vision, specifically detailing how they blend traditional craft techniques with fresh contemporary perspectives in ways that feel authentic and alive.

    d.
    Artwork Submission: Applicants must submit 4-5 high-resolution images along with 2 videos of the artwork. 

    e.
    The Applicants must provide links to their LinkedIn profiles, if available. This information will assist us in evaluating your professional background and qualifications. 

    1. Submission Format: 

    Applicants must submit their entries via the designated Google Form on the website.

    1. Shortlisting Process: 


    Stage 1 – Online Application:
    A panel of industry experts, along with representatives from the organisers will review all submitted entries and shortlist fifteen (15) Applicants based on their submissions. The selection criteria will include creativity, adherence to guidelines and the overall quality of the artworks and shall be notified via email. 

    Stage 2 – Selection of Winner: The fifteen (15) shortlisted Applicants will be invited to present their designs and project proposals to a judging panel in New Delhi. 

    1. Prize And Mentorship:

      a. From all the entries, the jury will shortlist the 15 applications. Out of these, five Applicants will be selected as award recipients, with the monetary grant distributed as follows:
      First Prize (single recipient): ₹2,00,000

      Second Prize (2 recipients): ₹1,00,000 each 
      Third Prize (2 recipients): ₹50,000 each

      b. In addition to the cash awards, all five winners will receive promotional support across ACF’s and Burgoyne Original Masters’ digital platforms, including Website, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, accompanied by visibility through printed marketing materials.

      c. The remaining ten shortlisted participants will receive a Participation Certificate, a trophy along with a feature by BOM on their social media channels or through printed marketing material. 

    2. By participating in the grant, the Applicant consents to the organisers using their images and stories in campaign materials. This may include promotional content across various platforms, such as social media, websites and print materials, for the duration of the campaign. 

    3. The entries submitted by you must meet the criteria set out in these T&Cs and such other criteria as may be decided by the organisers at their discretion. Applicants understand that they may be disqualified by the organisers at any time for failing to meet the criteria, quality standards and/or entry requirements. Disqualification may also occur for any reason solely determined by the organisers, at its sole discretion. 

    4. Applicants understand that Organisers assume no liability for the works submitted, including any accusations of plagiarism or copyright issues. By entering the grant, Applicants acknowledge that they are solely responsible for ensuring the originality and legality of their submissions. 

    5. The decision with respect to selection / non selection of the Applicants as the winner in the grant shall be decided by the organiser in their sole discretion. Merely filling up the participation form and providing necessary details thereon does not entitle in any way to win the grant to claim the Prize. 

    6. Financial Liability and Withdrawal 

      a. Any delays or non-adherence to conditions communicated by the organiser may result in financial liability and the organiser may exercise in their sole discretion to recover such costs. 

      b. In the event that any shortlisted or selected Applicant, including winners, withdraws or backs out from the grant after the selection process without a valid reason acceptable to the organiser, the organiser reserves the right to impose a penalty charge. Such charge shall be determined at the sole discretion of the organiser and must be paid by the Applicant to compensate for any losses, damages or costs incurred. 
    7. These T&Cs shall be applicable and binding upon the winner. In case of any conflict regarding the T&Cs or any other grant related queries, the recipients are supposed to file a formal written complaint within seven days the date on which the conflict arose. The decision of the organiser shall be final and binding on you.

    8. The prospective winner of the grant shall be contacted in a manner decided by the organiser at their sole discretion and only upon their adherence to such additional terms as may be decided by the organiser, the winner would be announced.

    9. The winner selected by the Organiser shall be final and binding on all Applicants and the organiser shall not be obligated to provide any explanation or justification for the decisions made by them to anyone. 

    10. In the event that the winner cannot fulfil any condition conveyed to them by the organiser, then the organiser shall have the right to disqualify and/or change the winner at their sole discretion and such winner shall have no recourse in the matter. 

    11. Your participation in the said grant is deemed to be voluntary and the personal information provided in relation thereto, if any, shall be used by the organiser for the purpose of the grant, media amplification activities relating to the grant, marketing and advertising activities and for market research. 

    12. The organiser is not liable in any manner whatsoever for the failure of disclosure to potential winners due to inaccurate, fabricated and/or incorrect information provided by the Applicants. Applicants who provide inaccurate, fabricated and incorrect information shall be solely responsible for any losses and damages suffered by the organiser and/or any third party. 

    13. The winner shall note that the prize is non-refundable, non–transferable and not exchangeable for cash, credit and/or kind, either in part or in full. The prize cannot be sold or bartered in any manner whatsoever. 

    14. The organiser shall have the right to disqualify any Applicant of the Grant, for providing inaccurate information or not meeting the eligibility criteria provided herein or any such reason as it may deem fit. 

    15. The organiser reserves the right to pursue legal action against any Applicant believed to have undertaken fraudulent activities or other activities harmful for the said grant, the entry submission process or to be acting in violation of applicable laws.

    16. None of the provisions of these T&Cs shall be deemed to constitute a partnership or agency between the Applicant (s) and the organiser and the Applicant (s) shall have no authority to bind the organiser in any manner whatsoever. 

    17. The organiser reserves the right to amend these T&Cs without prior notice to the Applicants(s). 

    18. Applicants understand that the organisers reserve the right to change or cancel the scheduled date(s) for any grant-related activities. Applicants will be notified of any changes as soon as possible. 

    19.  Intellectual Property Rights:

      a. All rights, title and interest, including but not limited to the Intellectual Property Rights in any/all images/photographs uploaded by the organiser on its platforms shall vest it. You hereby grant the organisers a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, unlimited, perpetual, irrevocable and royalty free license to use the images/photographs shared by you for the grant, in any manner as it may deem fit. The Applicants shall not in any manner or form utilise any material including but not limited to images, photographs, logos etc. of the organiser without their prior written grant. 

      b. The entire copyright and other intellectual property rights in the said grant and all footage shot for this grant (including footage featuring the Applicants) shall solely vest with the organisers. The organisers have the sole right to exploit the said footage commercially by and all means throughout the world in perpetuity and shall have the right to edit, cut, translate, dub, package or alter the footage, and to combine it with other material for whatever purpose. The organisers are authorised to use the footage recorded for this grant in any manner it deems fit, including for publication on its digital platforms or any other platform, and that any Applicants cannot hold any claim against the organisers. 

      c. Applicants confirm that all works submitted are original. By entering the grant, Applicants acknowledge their commitment to this requirement. 

    20. Disclaimers:

      a. The Organisers shall not be held liable for (i) any delay in performing or partial or total failure to perform any of their obligations under these T&Cs if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond the control of the organisers or (ii) delays, changes, cancellations, diversions howsoever caused including without limitation as a result of epidemics, pandemics, COVID-19, travel restrictions whether domestic or international, war, terrorist action or strikes, accidents, fire, flood, non-availability of tickets, rooms, hotels; or (iii) for any loss, damage to property, personal injury, or death resulting from or related to Applicant’s participation and/or inability to participate in this said grant, or the use, misuse or inability to use the prize or any portion thereof. However, if any of the aforementioned circumstances arise, the organiser may, at their sole discretion and without any obligation, engage with the Winner to schedule alternative dates for the delivery of the prize. 

      b. The organisers, their group companies, sub-contractors, respective directors, officers, employees, representatives or agents do not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem in any network, system, server or otherwise which may result in any participation being not properly registered or recorded or posted.
      c. In no event shall the organisers be liable for losses or any incidental or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the said grant. The organisers shall not be responsible for any product or service liability of any kind. 

      d. The organisers offer no express or implied warranty regarding the merchantability and/or fitness of the prize and/or does not give any assurance for the experience by availing the prize.

      e. The organisers shall not be responsible for any loss or physical injury that occurs to the Applicants, their immediate family members on account of their participation in the grant. The Applicants and their family members will participate at their own risk and can have no claim whatsoever against the organisers. 

      f. The organiser have no control over and is not responsible if for any reason/s whatsoever, if the said Prize cannot be availed/redeemed for any reason whatsoever including force majeure, travel restrictions or ban in India, and/or any other unforeseeable event beyond the control of the organiser etc., and in no event shall the organisers be liable for any losses or any incidental or consequential damages whatsoever caused to the winner due to the same. 

    21. These T&Cs/agreements are/are subject to the laws of India. You hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Delhi, India in all disputes arising out of or relating to your participation in the said grant.
