Every February, Amritsar gathers in a different rhythm.
Over three immersive days in the city’s historic heart, The Sacred unfolds through music at sunrise, poetry at dusk, and conversations that weave together devotion, artistry, and reflection. Rooted in Bhakti and Sufi traditions, the festival creates a space where sound, silence, and storytelling coexist.
This year, BOM is proud to support Soumik Datta — the British-Indian composer redefining the sarod for a global audience. His performance brings together heritage and innovation, carrying tradition and experimentation in equal measure.

At The Sacred Amritsar, the city came alive through performances that felt deeply moving and quietly extraordinary. Kailash Kher & Kailasa brought an undeniable spiritual energy, Usha Uthup commanded the stage with her signature presence, while The Kutle Khan Project and the Anirudh Varma Collective unfolded layers of rhythm, storytelling, and sound that held the audience still.
Among these remarkable artists, Soumik Datta offered a performance that felt both intimate and expansive. Through the sarod, he moved effortlessly between restraint and crescendo — meditative passages opening into moments of quiet intensity. Rooted in tradition yet shaped with contemporary sensitivity, his music carried both precision and emotion, allowing silence to become as meaningful as sound.
