Before form, there is intention. Before fabric, there is thought.

Launch Of BOM - Season 1
Before form, there is intention. Before fabric, there is thought.

Burgoyne Original Masters – Season 1 marks the beginning of a long-form exploration into craft, culture and creative lineage. Conceived as a space for reflection rather than spectacle, the launch brought together artists, patrons and practitioners to consider what it means to make and to sustain meaningful work today.

The afternoon unfolded through a sequence of thoughtfully curated moments – opening with reflections that traced the philosophy behind Burgoyne Original Masters, followed by film, conversation and the unveiling of the Season 1 coffee table book. Together, these elements introduced the central ideas of the platform: cultural stewardship, creative responsibility and the often-unseen labour that sustains artistic and craft practices across generations.

At its core, Season 1 turns its gaze towards beginnings – the origins of material, the discipline behind mastery and the slow, deliberate processes that shape meaningful work. Bringing together established masters and emerging voices from across art, craft, performance, storytelling and design, Burgoyne Original Masters creates a living archive of practices rooted in devotion, originality and lived experience.

At its heart, this season honours origins: the quiet beginnings of material, the discipline behind mastery and the invisible labour that shapes creative ecosystems. Through conversation, film, performance and print, Burgoyne Original Masters invites a slower engagement with craft – one rooted in patience, purpose and respect for process.

come together, craft finds its voice.
